The Malaysian Society of Aesthetic Medicine (MSAM) successfully hosted a one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) program titled “Lasers in Aesthetic Medicine” on 13 April 2025 at the Xsolla Curine Academy in KL Eco City. This educational event gathered a full house of enthusiastic participants eager to deepen their knowledge and refine their techniques in laser and light-based aesthetic treatments.

The morning lecture sessions covered a comprehensive range of topics, including:

  • Introduction to Lasers in Aesthetic Medicine by Dr. Sean Tan
  • Hair Removal Lasers by Dr. Jeffrey Lim
  • Ablative and Semi-Ablative Lasers by Dr. Jessie Lim
  • Lasers for Pigmentary Disorders by Dr. Ho Foo Soon
  • Vascular Lasers by Dato Dr. Seah
  • Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) by Dr. William Yap
  • Pre- and Post-Treatment Care: What to Do and What Not to Do by Dr. Jason Teng
  • Complications and Management by Dr. Ong Jin Khang

The afternoon continued with an engaging live demonstration training, where participants had the opportunity to observe laser techniques in real-time and interact directly with our expert speakers.

Bringing together seasoned experts and curious learners under one roof, the event covered essential theoretical and practical knowledge for every level of practitioner, from beginners to those looking to refine their injection techniques.

After a refreshing lunch break, participants gathered for the highly anticipated hands-on training session, where they had the opportunity to gain real-world experience under the guidance of our experts.

The Malaysian Society of Aesthetic Medicine (MSAM) kicked off the year with a highly successful Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on 9 February 2025 at the Xsolla Curine Academy, KL Eco City. The event brought together esteemed speakers and professionals in the aesthetic medicine field for a morning of insightful sessions, valuable networking, and festive celebration.

The CME program commenced with registration at 9:30 AM, followed by a packed schedule of engaging presentations from industry leaders. Topics ranged from the introduction of aesthetic medicine to legal regulations, aging science, research methodology, and ethics.

Highlights included:

  • Dr Jason Yip‘s overview of aesthetic medicine, setting the tone for the day.
  • Dr Chu KooiYen’s important insights into the legislation of aesthetic practice in Malaysia.
  • Dr Lim TingSong on the Science of Aging, offering a clinical perspective on managing aging in aesthetic practice.
  • Professor Dr Mai Chun Wai’s breakdown of Research Methodology, essential for evidence-based practice.
  • Dr Hew YinKeat addressed Ethics in Aesthetic Medicine, a critical topic in maintaining standards and professionalism.
  • Dr Tristan Tan concluded the talks with a session on Red Flags in Aesthetic Medicine, emphasizing patient safety and cautionary practices.

The session ended with a lively Q&A segment, followed by a photo session to commemorate the gathering.

In the spirit of togetherness, MSAM also hosted a delightful Chinese New Year Luncheon right after the academic sessions. Members and guests enjoyed traditional dishes, exchanged festive greetings, and celebrated the start of a prosperous new year.

The event was proudly supported by AMSC 2025 Malaysia, with CPD points awarded to all attendees.
